Just connect the machine to your network, connect a HDD to the machine, and share the HDD volume to your network. If you have a spare windows machine laying around, an old laptop, or any relatively modern computer really, you can turn this into your own cloud. They almost always run some version of Linux that make it easy to set up but is pretty much only useful for storage. It has a motherboard, fans (usually loud), a CPU (usually weak), RAM (not very much), a power source, and a bunch of bays for HDDs.
